bioengineering

Biological science has reached the point where even human flesh and bone can be modified as easily as a computer or robot. This is mostly due to the studies done by Phillis Cudley, a doctor working for Freelife Industries Bioengineering is also referred to as Heuristic Enhancement or “Gacking” depending on your standing towards bioengineering.

Bioengineering is a process in which modified animal tissue is applied to human beings. This is done through reengineering surgery.

There are two main reasons people undergo reengineering surgery. Some people wish to empower their bodies beyond human capabilities by increasing muscle tissue and bone density. While it is still experimental, steps are being made towards increasing brain functions as well. The other reason people undergo reengineering surgery is for cosmetic reasons. This is entirely dependent on the customer, but many people will get things such as eyes, ears and skin replaced, along with things like horns and tails added.

Bioengineering is illegal in more than half the countries of Titanius, and viewed by many as inhumane and unnatural. This is largely due to the high risk of problems arrising from surgery and people dieing on the operating table. Bioengineering is also highly expensive, only available to the wealthiest members of society.
